All About Pool Filters

Two common types of pool filters are based on sand or cartridge filtration. Both filter systems keep your pool clean with proper maintenance and the right fit for the size of your pool. Any filter that’s too small won’t filter out the dirt and debris effectively. Cartridge filters are more energy efficient than sand filters, reduce water consumption and don’t require backwashing. Although they are more time consuming to clean and pricier than sand filters, they are ideal for pools with low GPM capacity. Sand filters are low maintenance, easy to use and remove dirt as small as 20 to 40 microns (amazing!).

Hayward SwimClear Cartridge Filter: Select from the multi-element or single element. The SwimClear cartridge filters provide the most energy efficient filtration by eliminating the need to backwash. Features include a top manifold configuration for excellent filtration, reduced costs of operation, a cleanable cartridge to eliminate backwashing (yah!), durable filter tanks and a tamper proof flange clamp that securely fastens the tank top and bottom for speedy access to internal components. Easy to use for first time pool owners.

Pentair Clean & Clear Cartridge Filters: No need for backwashing, simply remove the four polyester cartridges and rise them with a garden hose. This is a very durable, reliable cartridge filter system with a 100 percent drain clean-out port and continuous high flow internal air relief. Molded from a single piece of fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene tank for corrosion resistance and 2 inch plumbing for maximum flow and fast water cleaning. Winterization on this unit is fast and simple. Another great product perfect for first time pool owners.

Hayward S200 Series Sand Filter: For inground pools of all types and sizes, inground residential and commercial spas and even water features like fountains and water gardens. This highly versatile industry favourite combines high-rate filtration performance with a corrosion proof injection tank. Other features include a sight glass so you can see when your backwash cycle is completed and dependable all-weather performance. This sand filter is effective for 1 to 23 square feet.

Pentair (Tagelus) TA Model Sand Filters: Constructed from one piece of fiberglass reinforced material for years of service. Durable and reliable, the Tagelus fiberglass sand filter is built for ease-of-use and to continuously flatten and level the sand inside the tank as a key to quicker cleaning cycles and low running costs. Their combination sand and water drain speeds up the winterizing process. There are several models to choose from, so your filtration needs are perfectly matched.
